Archery.

So, I have been testing out that long bow I got for Christmas, it's awesome! It's a fifteen pound draw, very easy for me. I love it to death, and today is my SECOND day ever using a proper bow and arrow. (The one's at summer camp are always to big.) Yesterday being my first day shooting correctly. Second arrow I shot, I hit the target. (A hay bail dad brought up from the barn) I was so excited, I knew exactly what to do after that first arrow. When I draw back, I can feel if something's wrong. I know how to readjust my fingers and hands so I don't wiggle the arrow, I know all about the safety and such. It's an amazing sport for a girl like me, I even searched for tips on archery for beginners! now have a story to tell, (A mysterious arrow vanishing,) but first, I'm going to give some pointers, and tell you about the pains that come with archery,

Here is what I have learned,

1. ALWAYS wear a glove on the hand you hold the bow with. Ten minutes into my first time my hand was rubbed red and raw, with extremely deep imprints from holding it tightly. I had my brother fetch me a pair of black knit gloves from the house so I could put one on.

2. While wearing a glove on the hand you hold your bow with, always keep the hand you draw your string bare. Or get texting/archery gloves so that your finger tips are bare.

3. While I just said to keep one hand bare and one hand covered. Until you get the feel for drawing and shooting arrows, keep both hands bare. By the time you shoot you fourth or fifth arrow you should recognize what to do.

4. When you draw take a deep breath, exhale when you release the arrow. Relax, don't make your shoulders or body stiff.

5. A good way to know that you've draw your string back far enough is when your hand is touching your cheek. Eighteen through twenty five inches is a good draw length. When you hand hits your cheek, look straight down the arrow at your target, and fire!

6. Make sure all animals and pets are kept in the house or tied up. You wouldn't want your arrow to miss and accidentally hit your dog!

7. Same goes for people, make sure they are behind YOU when you even begin to draw back your arrow.

8. Never EVER point a bow with an arrow in it, unless it is either A. In self defense (We're talking defense against coyote or axe murderer, not your constantly teasing brother.) B. not attached to the string, C. Held in place with BOTH hands and NOT draw back to fire.

9. This is important, if you take up archery, to keep your bow from being damaged, NEVER draw the string back and release if there isn't an arrow in it.

10. If you draw back, and the shoulder you're drawing back with hurts, your probably doing it wrong. start again and readjust.

The pains,

After a while you are going to feel sore, probably withing the first thirty minutes if your doing it wrong. Here's what to expect when it comes to pain,

1. Thighs, and the front of your legs from the knee up to your hip bone are going to be sore by the next day. You have to stand in a slightly awkward position, so it will help build some muscle, but it just hurts.

2. Shoulder. The arm you use to draw back with, that's going to be so sore. You are turning just that upper half of your body slightly, and doing this fifty times is going to cause some major pains.

3. Your neck. The side that you always tilt down to look at your target with, and draw your arm back with, major pains.

4. Wrists! They will hurt from the stiffness and stretching and strength needed from them. But this will build up some arm and wrist strength eventually.

5. Nose, first time I shot an arrow the string hit my nose because I was to close. Ouch.

6. Jaw, if you fire wrong, or release at the wrong moment or pull to far back, your hand can move and hit your jaw. This the least painful thing,

7. Your elbow, the arm that you DON'T use to draw back with, the string will hit there, Especially if your aiming when the winds blowing. This leaves a major stinging burn, painful and red. And bruised.

Archery is fun, and while I just made it sound hard and painful, it's actually pretty easy. If, you know what to do. Now don't give up if you miss the target thirty times in a row, it takes practice to get a good aim. I just lucked out with my skills. Practice with an adult with you for the first time. Supervision and someone to tell if you if your aim was to high or low. Now, if you start becoming sore, just carry on. You'll get used to the aches and burning and bruises, eventually.... :}

Now, here's a little story that's kinda funny, so I shot this perfect arrow, dead center on my target. Just amazing! My dad asked if he could try, he shot it and miss entirely. We go down and start searching for the arrow, but we can't find it! It's obviously going to dig into the ground, the always do. But we can't find it! My brother and grandmother who was visiting started helping us search. Twenty minutes and no luck! Dad got a rake and started searching, it would turn up eventually, probably in a few months. The others went up to the porch because my grandmother was going to leave in a little bit. But I stayed down to keep practicing with the one arrow I had left. (It came with two,) So I shot at the hay bail, but then I made an on purpose missed shot. It followed an almost exact course as the one my dad's did, I found it in the ground, and pull it out. following the direction it pointed. A couple few feet away I see the very teeny tiny orange piece of the end of the arrow stick out of the ground in the dirt beneath the grass. I pull it out and tell them I found it by shooting an arrow in that direction. Lucky me! :D

So that is the extent of my archery knowledge, maybe sometime I'll take a couple pictures of my arrows in the target.

What I got for Christmas!!!

Alright, as promised, a list of things I got for Christmas, (Happy Snoggletog btw,) The Dolls have their post up as well, but here's my list.

Meet Caroline, (The book,)

How To Train Your Dragon, (The movie,)

Dragons: Riders of Berk Part 1, (Half of the first season of the show.)

Dragons: Riders of Berk Part 2, (The other half of the first season.)

GeoGirl lip gloss and eye shadow, (It has no chemicals, is great for the environment, and just as good as regular makeup!)

EXPENSIVE purple ear buds, (We're talking seriously pricey here, no telling how my mom got them for me.)

Monsters Inc, (Yeah, the movie. My old copy is ten years old and doesn't even work, now I have a brand new copy on DVD and Blu ray! :D )

CHOCOLATE, (Yup, yummy chocolate!)

Toothpaste, (But not just your typical toothpaste, my favorite Tom's of Maine strawberry toothpaste, it has no dye, no chemicals, and one all natural flavoring that gives a slight color, actual strawberry juice!)

A cute owl ornament, (It's adorbs. :) )

A long bow and two arrows. (No judging! It's what I wanted.)

The Wizard of Oz, (A DVD 75th anniversary copy!)

A purple unicorn Tummy Stuffer, (My brother got an alligator and my grandmother wanted to make sure we both got one.)

NIVEA Chapstick, (I think it's because my mom knew how much my lips have been hurting because of the dry air, and I have a cold sore which keeps bleeding sometimes. :/ )

A Hula Sisters Barbie Doll set, (I got Chelsea and Skipper! One's name is Piper, but I have to work on a name for the other.)

The Sims 2, Seasons Expansion Pack, (I found it out a discount store, and because Sims 2 isn't made anymore, mom let me get it. :} )

A PS3 Snowboarding game, (Random..)

AND, the big gift, A NEW LAPTOP!! I'm using it from now on!!! It's an HP, :D It's High Definition, Got awesome sound, Windows 8, and a webcam!!!!

I know, I got a lot of stuff, (Most of it's small.) But that was a LOT more than I expected!! I only asked for FIVE things. And I won't be getting anything new until next Christmas, (No spoiling us, *eyeroll* ) But, with this new laptop, (Which is pretty big!!) I will be blogging easier maybe. You see, my old laptop was seven years old, has crashed three times, could just barely use high def things on the internet, couldn't play movies, and I actually had to plug a keyboard into it because the A, I, S, T, Up, Down, Left, and Right keys quit working. I'm going to enjoy Snoggletog with my family now!

Christmas Eve

It's Christmas Eve!!!

To the HTTYD fandom!!!

I love you guys!! "The best thing about winter is the annual holiday, we call it, Snoggletog, why we choose such a stupid name remains a mystery." ~Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III,

Christmas, Snoggletog, whichever you choose to call it, it's going to be great this year. Isn't it? How about this, we've all heard the typical Christmas songs, how about a Snoggletog song?!!!!

Jingle Bells,

Dashing through the snow,
On a Night Fury,
Through the mountains we go,
Screaming all the way.
Bell's on vikings ring,
Making Gronckle's fight,
Oh what fun it is to ride and sing a Snoggletog song tonight.
Oh, Jingle Bell's,
Tuffnut smells,
 Hiccup kissed Astrid,
 Snotlout cried,
 a Dragon died,
Snoggletog the viking way!

I gotta go do stuff, but check back tomorrow for a post on what I got for Christmas!!!

Christmas, Updates, What 2014 will bring.

So, my readers. The Dolls will for sure have a post up on Christmas Day, if you can wait that long. ;) I'm good, BUSY BUSY BUSY!!! With Christmas songs, and Astrid, and yaknog I mean eggnog. :} Alright 2014, IT'S GONNA BE BIG!! First of all, I myself plan to endure 2014 awesomely. Yup, big plans baby!!! :D But just all the stuff it's bringing, another year, new celebrities, new music, new movies, new books, maybe a new season to a show? Well, here is the big stuff I'M excited about.

DRUMROLL PLEASE.........

Girl Of The Year 2014!!!! Isabelle. Gorgeous isn't she? She is a ballet dancer, and look at her! Blonde hair, hazel eyes, ID cards? (!!) And what I'm interested in, THE PINK HAIR. Seriously!! Her hair is PINK!!! I would have liked it to be blue, or black, or green, or purple. But pink is okay for a doll with colored hair for the first time!!!

Next we have,

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2.   Our Dragon Boy is back, five years older and good as ever!!!
Here is an official poster,

Cool right?! It's all the buzz, releasing June 20th, 2014, it's going to be BIG!!! Other then the tiny teaser trailer, we now have this trailer.

In this trailer we see more than just our two main characters, this shows off Hiccup, Toothless, Snotlout, Astrid, Stoick, Gobber, Ruffnut. And surprisingly, Hiccup finds someone he misses with all his heart, but doesn't remember. His mom. Her name, something with Val in it, Valka or Valhallarama, we don't know, but we love her and hate her. From what we know she left/was kidnapped/vanished. But we realize, if Val (We don't know her name, so we call her Val.) is riding and training dragons and such, why didn't she at least ATTEMPT to come home? She could have hidden her dragon on an island and hitched a ride back or something!! You have to think that Val has basically abandoned her NEWBORN son and husband and never came back. NINETEEN years and Hiccup finds her, that hard to at least send a NOTE to your family?!! Alright, I'll shut up, you can watch it then move on for screen shots.

Okay before a trailer screen shot, enjoy THIS:

Dashing through the snow, on a Night Fury, through the mountains we go, laughing all the way! Bell's on building's ring, making Gronkle's fight, Oh what fun it is to drink Yaknog and throw it up today! Oh Jingle bells, Tuffnut smells, Hiccup kissed Astrid! Snotlout cried, a Dragon died, Snoggletog the viking way!

XD LOL ROTFL!!!

Okay, screenshots.

IT'S VAL!! Now I see where Hiccup got the eyes.

IT'S FLUFFY!!! Yup, Hiccup and Astrid, some romance? YEAH!

Yummy, dragon kisses. :D Hiccup's still an adorkable and patheticly perfecty cute viking.

If your worried about him looking to grown up, enjoy this.

EHEHEHEHEHE, from a far.

Up close. OOH! Time for the newest Hiccup quote, "You wouldn't throw a, one legged- AAHH!!"

And, Toothless with a little friend. :D

XD!! The adorableness!! And the glaring! Toothless is crawling under his wing and the other dragon is just staring at him wide eyed, then removes his wing and glares at Toothless, who now has those adorable puppy eyes!!! OH THE BABIES ARE SO GROWN UP!! OUR PRECIOUS'S!!!

I say 2014 will be pretty sweet. :) Between all the unreleased stuff, the upcoming fames and such, new trends and toys. And all the other stuff, we are going to ROCK THE WORLD!!!!!! I promise the dolls will have a post on Christmas FOR SURE, and I probably will to. But for now, MERRY CHRISTMAS!! HAPPY HANUKKAH!! HAPPY KWANZAA!!! JUST HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!! AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO!!

GUESS WHAT I GOT??!!

A NEW AG DOLL!!!! EEEEEKKK!!! I got MAG #29 for my b-day, (My "party" was late this year...) she is GORGEOUS. I named her: Astrid Lilo Emmaline Overland. Pretty right? She's half Hawaiian if your wondering about the Lilo part, and, she is the third last name to be added, so if I want I can extend different families. Though all of my dolls call me mom, Astrid is not sibling to any of the others. Well, I consider them all a family, they just aren't related in any way. Now, for a picture of her!!

Bad, I know. But it was late, I was tired, and way to excited to focus. Better one's will certainly be taken some other time. For now this is it though.

I recommend #29, she is VERY pretty. She is my fourth brunette AG, and my second with brown eyes. Though she is my first MAG, and first layered haired doll. I am registered on Inner Star University, you can friend me if you like! Just let me know in the comments what your username is, mine is; Astrid108

Alright, I'm off to enjoy other stuff, but check The Dolls blog for Astrid's introduction and her profile!!!

A doll, a hairstyle, an explanation, you know, stuff....

Hi everyone!! So first thing is first, I recently got back from Thanksgiving vacation, that was fun!! I took Rapunzel, and got a new Disney doll. As I have stated already. First up, the new doll, she was a birthday present from one of my grandmother's, and I have yet to get my presents and such from my parents and grandparents here. So, my new dolly is,

A TODDLER DOLL OF ANNA FROM FROZEN!!!!!! Isn't she cute? I have yet to see Frozen, but it looks VERY good. She is a sweet doll, sadly, the only pics of her I have right now are these of her in the box. But you'll see more of her, I promise.

This is the back of her box, I hope to get Elsa someday! Then I would have the sisters, that will be fun to do photo shoots with.

And, Rapunzel's hairstyle!! I managed to recreate her braid from the movie! If I had some little flowers it would have been perfect!! But, it is really simple so I can give directions through words, you can do this on any long haired dolls hair, first, separate the hair into three sections one of them slightly bigger then the other, then braid each section so you have three braids. Then take the three braids and braid them. There you go, Rapunzel's Braid!!

Aaah, and one of the fandoms I'm in has to make an appearance.

Just so everyone can go around teasing him and all he can do is try to speak clearly and fly a dragon with hiccups!!

Yeah, that should happen.

AAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDDD,

IT'S THE NEWEST POSTER!!!
POSTER!!! I can't wait for June of next year.. Our babies have grown up!! Hotcup, I mean Hiccup! has stubble, and hair, and a scar, and armor, and and and, Toothless has blue nostrils. I'm intrigued.. TOOTHWESS!! Y U HAV BLU NOSE?!!
